UNITED NATIONS, Nov 5: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon on Monday asked the Pakistan authorities to “immediately release the detained people, lift restrictions on the media and take early steps for return to democratic rule.” In a statement, Mr Ban also appealed to the Pakistan government to “hold parliamentary elections in the country as scheduled”.—Correspondent
